Happy new year, friend!
I hope your holidays were full of comfy Christmas pyjamas, time offline, and eating your weight in mashed potatoes (because same).
Now that we’re officially in 2026, let’s talk about goal-setting. But not the kind where you write down “make 6 figures!” on January 1st and then completely forget about it by Valentine’s Day.
The Problem with Most Goal-Setting
Here’s what I see all the time: people skip straight to the what without ever asking themselves the why.
“I want to make 6 figures!”
“I need a new website!”
“I’m going to post on Instagram every day!”
And then three weeks in? They’ve completely lost steam. No shame here, I, too, am guilty of going full speed ahead and crashing and burning in literally two weeks, oopsie!
The issue isn’t that you’re not motivated enough or disciplined enough. It’s that your goals don’t have a clear purpose behind them.
Goals Without Purpose vs. Goals With Purpose
Goals without purpose = doing a lot but still feeling like you’re not doing enough.
Goals with purpose = every step forward actually matters because you have a clear vision of what you want.
So before you start adding “rebrand my business” to your to-do list (p.s. I’m here for it when you’re ready!!), let’s make sure your goals actually reflect what YOU want—not just what Instagram says you should want.
My Stupidly Simple Framework for Goals That Actually Stick
I use these four questions and they’ve completely changed how I approach goal-setting:
1. What do I want to DO in 2026?
Think: start a new hobby? Join a fitness class? Travel somewhere you’ve been dreaming about? Launch that new offer?
2. What do I want to HAVE in 2026?
This is where the tangible stuff lives—an emergency fund, a new apartment, a booked and busy calendar, that rebrand you’ve been putting off, etc.
3. Who do I want to BE in 2026?
Are you the CEO with work-life boundaries? A creative entrepreneur who prioritizes rest? The thought-leader sharing your expertise on Substack or your newsletter?
4. How do I want to LIVE in 2026?
What does your day-to-day actually look like? Do you have a locked-in morning routine? Are you traveling more? Finally taking Fridays off?
Here’s Why Your Brand Matters
And here’s something I see all the time in my work: you’ve evolved.
Your business has grown. You’re not the same person (or serving the same clients) you were when you first threw that website together or designed that Canva logo at 2am.
But when your brand doesn’t reflect where you are NOW? It’s actually repelling the dream clients you’re trying to attract.
If you’ve outgrown your brand, your ideal clients can feel it—and they’re moving on to someone whose brand reflects the quality of work you’re doing now.
Your brand should support the business you’re building, not hold you back from it.
Let’s Make 2026 Your Year
If one of your goals is to finally have a brand that feels like YOU and attracts the clients you actually want to work with, I’d love to chat.
I’m opening up my calendar for discovery calls in Q1. Let’s talk about where you’re headed, what’s feeling off, and how we can create a brand that actually supports the business you’re building.
Here’s to a year of doing less of what drains us and more of what lights us up!
